Jayco Bay Criterium Series

My goal for the Bay Criterium series was to find some good race form for next weeks National Road Championships.

Day 1 - Williamstown.
I followed several attacks but generally used the race to find some speed. I didn't have much left in the last 4 laps but finished about 14th or so.

Day 2 - Portarlington
This tough circuit has two climbs every lap. I was given a job to cover the early moves. I chased every attack for the first 25mins and just as I thought my legs were going to complain, Emma Rickards came up and went with the next move. The group of 6 riders got a gap and this break stuck. Em went on to finish 5th..

Day 3 - Eastern Beach, Geelong
This tough 600m hotdog circuit is my favourite course. It has tough U turns but if you can corner well it is a really fun course. I went with a few moves and also did a solo move with 10mins to go butwas chased down. I finished 12th in the bunch kick.

Day 4 - Botanical Gardens
I felt tired today and didn't have much zap in the legs. The course was a 3km circuit without any technical corners. It was actually quite dangerous as a few of the lesser experienced riders were able to hang on and there was a massive crash half way through. I attacked up the climb but couldn't get away. Finished in the bunch.

Day 5 - Botanical Gardens
I love this course and in our race meeting indicated that I was keen to get in a break today. The crucial move happened just after the first sprint. I saw the attack coming and went with it. 7 of us got a gap and stayed away until the finish. I tried an attack but was chased down. Sara Carrigan attacked next, got a gap and stayed away until the finish. I finished 6th. I was happy with my race form and excited about next weeks National Road Champs.
